If you're wandering the streets of Las Vegas and have a craving for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, look no further than Dakao Sandwiches. Nestled at 5700 Spring Mountain Rd, this hidden gem offers a delightful array of Banh Mi sandwiches that have captured the hearts of both locals and tourists alike.
Dakao Sandwiches specializes in the traditional Vietnamese sandwich, the Banh Mi, which features a flawless blend of flavors and textures. Their menu boasts a variety of options, including Banh Mi Thit Nguoi with cured pork and pork roll, Banh Mi Bi featuring shredded pork and skin, and even Banh Mi Ca Moi with savory sardines, all priced at an incredibly reasonable $8.80. Each sandwich is crafted with fresh, crusty bread that holds an extraordinary filling, a detail that garner rave reviews from satisfied customers like Al Sun, who labeled it as "the best banh mi sandwiches in Vegas."
Notably, Dakao also excels in offering unique varieties such as Banh Mi Trung, Lap, And Suong which combines fried egg and sausage, and Banh Mi Ga Nuong featuring juicy grilled chicken. The Banh Mi Dac Biet, tagged as the house special, encapsulates the essence of the Vietnamese sandwich, showcasing three different pork cold cuts layered with classic vegetables like pickled radish and cilantro. This combination creates a mouthwatering explosion of flavors that leaves you wanting more.
While some may find the ambiance less than polished—describing it as a “hole in a wall”—Dakao’s authenticity shines through its culinary artistry. Tiberiu Iepan captures this essence perfectly; "extraordinary bread" combined with generous portions makes each visit worthwhile, despite the occasional disappointment of sold-out items. This is a testament to the popularity and demand for their sandwiches.
The experience may be a no-frills "to-go" service, but customers such as Wade Wilson praise not just the sandwiches but also the sides, including refreshing drinks that won’t break the bank. In essence, if you're after a quick and delicious bite that is easy on your wallet, Dakao Sandwiches is a must-visit. It’s a place that offers not just food, but also a taste of Vietnamese culture, one Banh Mi at a time. Come for the sandwiches, stay for the authenticity—Dakao Sandwiches promises an unforgettable culinary journey.
“ Slight price increase but still cheaper than anywhere else. ”
“ Great Banh Mi sandwich. Fresh crusty bread and flavorful filling. Can’t beat the great pricing. Best banh mi sandwiches in Vegas. ”
“ One of the best Banh Mi places in Vegas. Great value for the size of sandwich ”
“ Let me clear this is a hole in a wall, no place to eat inside, it's a "to go" place. They have extraordinary bread that makes these sandwiches amazing, they are not expensive and there is always a line, they taste good but the place doesn't look too clean or maintained , the entrance door is dirty and broken, you can't see the kitchen so you can only assume they don't want you because that might turn you off. Most of the days some of the sandwiches you drove 30 minutes to get are not available, so be prepared for a surprise, there is no customer service and they are non apologetic, so if you want an authentic Vietnamese experience they got it here ... I will go back that's for sure ”
“ My first Bahn Mi was from this place. So solid. The coffee works really well I'd you want a rush. The soda pop is priced nice as well. Love it! ”
“ My husband and I love banh mi sandwiches, and every time we find a good restaurant, we have to stop. We arrived at Dakao around 9ish in the morning on a weekday, and while we had a pretty large order, we didn't wait to long. We ordered a 1, 2, 5, 6,and 12, doughnuts, sesame balls, and Vietnamese iced coffee. This place was delicious, and the gentleman that took our order was nice and fast in getting to everyone's orders. The sandwiches were great, and we ended up leaving with about 7 sandwiches. ”
“ Sandwich and coffee taste good. It definitely a hole in the wall place, but their sandwich taste good. I come here often for my vietnamese coffee and egg sandwich. ”
“ Ok, just bought a sandwich from this place for the first time...don’t go expecting to dine in...only 2 tables and not really set up for dine in, but if you want a delicious Bahn mi sandwich, check them out! I got the BBQ pork, super tasty...and where can you buy any sandwich for under 7??? ”
